STARFISH VIETNAM CLUB's INITIATIVES

In 2023, SAO BIEN established the local volunteer group “Starfish Vietnam Club” with the mission of empowering Vietnamese youth through experiential learning, nurturing them to become active agents of change who create a positive impact in their communities.

With continued support from SAO BIEN, the volunteer community has grown and successfully implemented 11+ Youth-led projects until 2024. These initiatives have delivered meaningful educational programs that help bridge the gap in resources and infrastructure for ethnic minority students in remote areas and foster deeper community engagement.

In the coming years, Starfish remains committed to its mission and will continue developing impactful projects that contribute to sustainable, inclusive change.

Flood emergency relief

October 2024

In response to the storm Yagi and prolonged heavy rainfall in northern Vietnam, 10 youth volunteers coordinated a relief effort, raising emergency funds and distributing essential supplies, including school supplies and equipment, to 05 schools in 05 communes in Yen Bai, Vietnam.

"Lucky Money” Campaign - Coc Re Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary School, Ha Giang.

February, 2025

A fundraising campaign during the Lunar New Year that mobilized community contributions through traditional lucky money envelopes.

The campaign successfully raised 150 million VND, which was used to support building infrastructure for 272 students in Coc Re Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary School, Ha Giang.

“Accompany Students to School” Program

Across 7 events, a total of 50 youth volunteers led a wide range of community-centered activities. A total of 1,265 students benefited from the program across 5 provinces: Dien Bien, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Son La, and Nghe An.
